PRESCRIPTION FOR DISASTER

"Ask your doctor if medically-unjustified drugs with detrimental cognitive side-effects, fatal internal hemorrhaging, hideous birth defects, and life-threatening allergic reactions are right for you." —Robert Broe

"One Hundred Percent Safe & Effective"

The era of pretending that synthetic chemicals could cure disease is over. So-called “evidence-based medicine” has become modern-day quackery.

Prescription drugs pose one of the greatest human-created dangers outside of war and pose a major peril to public health. Fifty-one percent of approved drugs have serious adverse side effects not detected prior to approval. Pharmaceuticals are now the 4th leading cause of death in America. Big Pharma has bought Congress.

The entire drug industry, including the monopolistic drug giants and their FDA co-conspirator, has clearly become the single greatest threat to the health and safety of the American people. And yet the FDA continues to push more drugs onto more Americans than ever before, all while pretending these drugs are safe and effective when, in reality, they are neither. Today’s pharmaceutical industry is a massive fraud being perpetrated against the American people, propped up by illegal trade practices, monopolistic behavior and outright criminal behavior on the part of the FDA.

Poisoning from prescription drugs has risen to become the second-largest cause of unintentional deaths in the United States, according to the private corporation the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

To rely on the drug companies for unbiased evaluations of their products makes about as much sense as relying on beer companies to teach us about alcoholism. Taking prescription drugs ranks as one of the most hazardous activities of modern society. Because so many millions are exposed, drugs have a potential for disaster that dwarfs most other risks of modern society.

In the hospital environment, multiple drugs are used in aggressive treatment–with a patient typically getting ten to fifteen drugs during a hospital stay. The intravenous route of administration of many of these drugs makes adverse effects occur more rapidly and with greater severity. Street drugs kill only 10% as many people every year, as legal, prescription drugs (6 times more than those Americans killed in the Vietnam War). Americans are dying, one every three to five minutes, from the effects of FDA-approved pharmaceutical drugs, used as directed!

Deaths from medication reactions rarely look any different than natural deaths. Medication deaths often occur quietly in hospitals, emergency rooms, and homes.

The problem extends well beyond a few. It involves hundreds of drugs including top-sellers like Viagra, Premarin, Prozac, Lipitor, Celebrex, and Motrin.

Prozac has been linked to an astounding 242 different side effects, including 34 different medical problems in the genital and urinary tract alone. Over a ten-year period, Prozac was associated with more hospitalizations, deaths, or other serious adverse reactions reported to the FDA than any other drug in America. Two similar drugs for depression, Paxil and Zoloft, are of similar toxicity. Scientific record shows they have few equals in their capacity to produce unpleasant and sometimes dangerous adverse effects.

One of the most deadly poisons routinely available to the public can be found in any large supermarket among household goods. It is closely related to a chemical called warfarin and is used as rat poison. It is available in prescription form as DuPont’s Coumadin. It can cause gangrene, fatal internal hemorrhaging, hideous birth defects, and life-threatening allergic reactions.

There is no such thing as a safe drug. The FDA ferociously keeps off the market effective, nontoxic therapies that might provide formidable competition for patented, and often toxic, pharmaceutical drugs. By keeping these therapies off the market, the FDA is protecting the pharmaceutical companies from effective competition. An average of 65% to 75% of FDA employees work for drug companies upon their retirement.

More than half of those surveyed said they are currently taking prescription drugs, indicating that more than half of American adults are now on drugs. Forty percent said they have experienced a negative reaction (side effect) from taking prescription medications.

Most side effects go unreported, and there is currently no enforced legal requirement that doctors or drug companies report known side effects to the FDA. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, prescription drugs currently kill approximately 100,000 Americans each year. None of those deaths are accurately recorded as “death by pharmaceuticals.”

The United States is the only advanced nation in the world that allows drug companies to advertise directly to consumers. It was legalized in 1998 by the FDA, following political pressure and influence from the drug companies who knew that being able to promote fictitious diseases and push brand-name drugs would result in windfall profits. (Some drugs are sold at markups as high as 300,000% over the cost of their ingredients.)

Ask your doctor: "How many Americans do you think is acceptable for the drug companies to kill each year?" Because right now, that number is, conservatively, about 200,000.

It’s public knowledge that pharmaceuticals kill more Americans each year than died in the entire Vietnam War, and the number of Americans killed by acts of terrorism are dwarfed by the number killed by prescription drugs that the FDA and drug companies unquestionably knew were killing people. It’s not that these deaths were truly accidental... they were fully documented but ignored anyway by an industry that is now clearly a very real threat to the health and safety of the American people.

This is no exaggeration: The number of people killed by FDA-approved pharmaceuticals since 9/11 is equivalent to dropping a nuclear bomb on a major U.S. city. International terrorists could not even hope to cause the number of casualties in the United States that have been achieved by the drug companies working in conspiracy with the FDA. The body count will only get worse.

More Americans are hooked on drugs from their physicians, than from all the pushers on the street. Adults are misguided in their belief that young people begin using drugs because of peer pressure. Because our attention is being focused primarily on street drugs, we don’t notice the legal and accepted cause of drug addiction and dependency that is being ignored. The phrase “Just Say No” should apply to drugs dependency of all kinds, not only to illicit street drugs, but to prescription and over-the-counter drugs, caffeine and nicotine...

Television ads should never have been allowed by the FDA. Television drug ads engage in such blatant deceptions and exaggerations that even the medical journals are starting to condemn the practice. The ads essentially lie to the public about the benefits of pharmaceuticals while utterly ignoring alternative health strategies like dietary or lifestyle changes.

Television commercials have helped to make Americans the most drug-addicted people in the world. Drug companies spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year trying to persuade Americans that the solution to every ailment from sniffles to sleeplessness can be found in a pill. Many advertisements directed at mothers equate maternal love with dispensing pills to children. When a child is continually given medicines by “Dr. Mom” who tells them that “this is good for you” and “this will make you feel better” when they’re not feeling well, while constantly being bombarded with “plop-plop, fizz-fizz” on T.V., plus seeing that it’s okay for mom and dad to take pills for everything, this sets the stage for using illicit street drugs...

One commercial for a multi-symptom cold medicine shows a young boy in bed, surrounded by literally dozens of medications. He beams, “Whenever I have a cold, my mother spoils me. Look at all these medicines!” Of course, he points out, all he really needs is the one multi-symptom pill. But he fondly indulges his mother’s foolishness because the purchase of all those medicines proves her love for him.

Then his mother appears and says tenderly, “Got everything you need, son?” It’s clear she doesn’t mean a back rub or extra pillows–just more drugs. When she leaves, the boy turns to the camera and says proudly, “She’s terrific, isn’t she?”

This equation of love with drugs has also contributed to the rising use of street drugs. T.V. advertisers are teaching our children to use drugs. Any child or emotionally immature adult subjected to the daily and incessant barrage of messages offering “fast, fast, fast” or “instant” relief from every care of life by simply swallowing pills would be tempted to try them, and, finding they do not live up to the glowing promises, would then resort to stronger ones.

Today, the United States is the only industrialized nation in the world to allow drug ads on television. So how do drug ads lie to viewers? Essentially, they show healthy-looking actors role playing a fairy tale. At the beginning of the ad, the actors’ lives appear to be in total disarray while they’re suffering from some symptom.

Then, after getting on the drug, the actor’s life is magically transformed into a state of perfection: They’re happy, everything is cheery, life is glorious, and all their personal relationships are suddenly successful, and so on.

Of course, the narration never directly says these drugs will transform your life and make you a happy, youthful, organized and successful person. Rather, it is implied by association through a carefully-construction formula of television influence that exerts its power through the messages that are not directly stated.

Beer companies pull the same trick when they show beer drinkers surrounded by sexy young women. The message that gets driven into the subconscious minds of male viewers is that drinking their beer will make them attractive to women. It doesn’t have to be stated; it’s presented in context, using body language and associative conditioning that the subconscious mind immediately understands.

Drug companies use the same influence strategies by associating their brand-name drugs with images of happy, successful, vibrant people. The message? Take our drugs and you’ll be just like these people! Of course, it’s all a grand hoax.

Pharmaceuticals don’t treat health conditions, only symptoms. None of these drugs have ever cured anyone, nor made them fundamentally healthier. In fact, most pharmaceuticals cause damage to various organs of the body, including liver damage, heart damage, brain damage and kidney damage.

Many pharmaceuticals cause heart attacks and strokes, and nearly all pharmaceuticals cause nutritional deficiencies that are almost never mentioned by doctors, drug companies or even the FDA. Furthermore, most drugs don’t even work on most people. To be approved by the FDA, a pharmaceutical has to demonstrate some effect on about five percent of those taking it.

The FDA approval of today’s popular pharmaceuticals is based almost entirely on fraudulent science, manipulated by drug companies to produce the statistics they desire so that the corrupt FDA decision makers can approve it for widespread use. The drug approval panels, meanwhile, are deliberately and routinely stacked with decision makers who maintain strong financial ties to the very drug companies impacted by their votes.

A drug approved for ANY condition can be legally prescribed for ALL conditions, regardless of whether it has undergone a single test for those conditions.

Pharmaceutical medicine, as practiced today, is a grand medical hoax involving the mainstream media, the FDA, drug companies, medical journals, medical schools and even M.D.s. They’ve all quietly agreed to do whatever it takes to maximize profits at the expense of public health, regardless of the science or the ethics involved.

Statin drugs, for example, have now been proven to offer absolutely no medical benefit whatsoever to women, with zero reduction in the risk of heart attacks or strokes. HRT drugs have been scientifically proven to actually cause breast cancer and heart attacks, not prevent them. Antidepressant drugs cause diabetes, and diabetes drugs cause liver damage. I could go on, but you get the point.

All of this is of absolutely no concern to the FDA and drug companies, who just keep pushing these toxic chemicals through blatantly fraudulent TV advertisements that are extremely effective at selling products, but utterly useless at improving peoples’ health. 29 states are suing drug companies for fraud.

The mainstream media operates as a willing co-conspirator by promoting dangerous drugs while accepting hundreds of millions of dollars in Big Pharma ad money every year.

Disease organizations like the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association and even the American Cancer Society are little more than Big Pharma front groups that are far more interested in pushing drugs than curing disease. These groups actually ignore known cures for these diseases and attack alternative medical treatments that offer real solutions.

Meanwhile, the toll on American lives from this modern medical hoax is truly daunting: Over two million Americans are harmed each year by pharmaceuticals, and over 100,000 are killed by FDA-approved drugs. It’s the equivalent of dropping a nuclear bomb on a major U.S. city each year, year after year, all for the financial benefit of drug companies who reap profits from the carnage.

American medicine, which was once a noble calling, has now become a global embarrassment. It is now based on hype, not science. It’s based on profits, not compassion. And the more Americans it can keep in a state of chronic disease, without curing them, the more profits it can squirrel away.

Pharmaceutical medicine has now become the single greatest danger to the health and safety of the American people and the FDA has become the single most dangerous organization in North America, far outweighing the dangers of terrorism.

Consider this: Through its negligence and refusal to protect the public, the FDA will cause the deaths of more Americans this year than if a terrorist set off a nuclear bomb at the Superbowl. That is no exaggeration. And yet this practice remains tolerated—in fact, supported! —by lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, but predominantly Republicans who seem to be in bed with drug companies.

The American people deserve better than this. It is time to ban drug ads for good, and protect Americans from the fraudulent hype, propaganda and quackery of pharmaceutical medicine.

Let’s bury it and move on to natural health solutions that really work. Diabetes is curable. So is cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, depression and Alzheimer’s disease. It’s time to stop censoring these solutions and start healing the American people through things that really work: nutrition, herbs, sunlight, exercise and avoidance of toxic chemicals in their foods, homes and personal care products.

It’s time to end the quackery of modern medicine and the profiteering from human suffering. End the patent protection for medicines, ban television ads, prosecute the criminals running the FDA and end the censorship of nutritional supplements. We should teach America how to heal and end this business of disease.

It is estimated that one billion prescriptions are written in the United States every year. Today, hospital and drugstore sales of prescriptions amount to over $20 billion. Americans shell out up to $7.5 billion on nonprescription drugs with an estimated 40% of the U.S. population using an over-the-counter (OTC) product in any given 48 hours. This gives us a combined total amounting to close to 600 pills per year for every man, woman and child.
